I’m very proud to announce that I’ve recently been given the ‘Highly Commended’ award as part of the Renault MSA Young Photographer of the Year 2013. Established in 2002 in association with Renault UK, the Renault MSA Young Photographer of the Year award is designed to recognise the most promising photographers aged 25 or under working within British motor sport. This is the first year that they have given a prize for photographers being given the ‘Highly Commended’ accolade and I have received a years free membership to the Guild of Motoring Writers (GoMW).
It has been a fantastic year for me visiting a vast array of Europe’s finest racing circuits and facilities following full seasons of both the Blancpain Endurance Series and the Avon Tyres British GT Championship as well as attending famous events such as the Nürburgring 24 Hours, Le Mans 24 Hours and FIA World Rally Championships very own Wales Rally GB. I’d like to thank all of those who have been involved in making this year happen and I look forward to seeing what the future brings!
Huge congratulations are of course in order to the winner of the Renault MSA Young Photographer of the Year 2013, Tom Loomes. A close friend of mine who I’ve known for quite some time now, even before he became an accredited photographer. I admired his work back then and still do to this day, he is a very worthy winner of the prestigious award and I wish him the best of luck for whatever the future may bring.
